What is it?

The English Language Program for Spilka members is designed to connect Ukrainian lawyers with native English-speaking lawyers to practice and improve their legal English. This program is an excellent opportunity for Spilka members to enhance their language skills, network with legal professionals from around the world, and gain a competitive edge in the international legal market.As a member of Spilka, you will gain access to a range of exclusive resources and benefits designed to support your professional development and networking efforts. The program is conducted entirely online, allowing participants to connect from anywhere in the world. Students and volunteers are matched based on their language level and legal interests, and are encouraged to meet regularly to practice speaking in English.

What is the format?

  • Students and volunteers are matched based on their language level and legal interests, as well as their availability according to their schedules.
  • Once matched, volunteers will send an email to the student to introduce themselves and arrange a date and time for their first session.
  • Sessions should aim to be between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • The program is conducted entirely online, allowing participants to connect from anywhere in the world.
  • Online sessions can be held through Teams, Zoom, or similar online platforms if in-person meetings are not possible.
  • The program is designed to be flexible and convenient for both students and volunteers.

How to become a volunteer?

To become a volunteer for the English Language Program for Spilka members, please follow these steps:

  • Fill out the volunteer application form with your personal information, language skills, and availability.
  • Wait for a response from the program coordinator about your application.
  • If accepted, your Spilka profile will be created and you will be matched with a student based on your language level and legal interests.
  • Send an email to your matched student to introduce yourself and arrange a date and time for your first session.
  • Meet regularly with your student to practice speaking in English and help them improve their legal English.
